Assam is a land of fairs and festivals with most having roots in the different faith and belief of inhabitants. The heritage and culture of multiple tribes has made the state a home of colorful festivals. The festivals reflect the true spirit, tradition, and lifestyle of the people of Assam by their passionate, compelling and mesmerizing effect.

Ambubashi Mela
Ambubashi Mela is held every year during mid-June near Kamakhya temple of Guwahati. People hold strict rituals or 'Tantric rites' on the occasion. Ambubashi mela is held at the Kamakhya temple, after the temple is opened after being closed for the three days. Thousands of devotees from all over India visit this mela.

Brahmaputra Beach Festival
The Festival is organized on the sandy beach of the river Brahmaputra in the month of January. The Assam Boat Racing and Rowing Association, Guwahati in association with Tourism Department, Govt. of Assam organizes this event. Various colorful cultural activities, and adventure sports are held every year.

Dehing Patkai Festival
This festival, in eastern Assam, is a blend of ethnic fairs along with golfing, tea heritage tours, adventures sports, wildlife excursion. It is organized in the month of January every year.

Tea Festival
Tea festival is held every year in Jorhat, to enjoy the fragrant and stimulating tea, music, and fun. Jngle safaris, tea garden visits, golf, local cuisine, rafting in turbulent rivers, angling, shopping and cultural extravaganza are the events of the fair.

Majuli Festival
Majuli festival is held on the bank of Luit River, in the month of November for four days. The assemblage and integration of all ethnic groups is a very striking occurrence that easily attracts the visitors to this island.
