Fairs of HaryanaFairs and festivals of Haryana are a window to the rich culture and prosperity of the region. The fair time is enjoyment time when whole of the state bustles with joy and frolic. Masani Fair Masani fair is the most famous fair is held in Gurgaon village in Gurgaon City. The goddess is said to cure the disease of small-pox. There is a legend about this temple. During April–May fair is held and large crowd of devotees visit the place. Suraj Kund Craft Mela Suraj Kund village in Haryana is at a distance of 20 km from Delhi. The village is famous for its handicraft fair held between 1st and 14th February. Craft man sell potters, embroiderers, weavers, wood carvers, metal workers, stone smiths, and painters. For entertainment there are folk dancers, musicians, and magicians. Small village fairs Mela Devi fair is held in Rohtak district, twice a year. Mela Baba Mast Nath is organized in between February and March at the Samadhi of the saint near Rohtak and Khera Sadh. People worship both at the Samadhi and the temple. Sat kumbh fair is held in Sonepat twice a year. Another fair is held at village of Khori-Shah-Choka in the Firozpur-Jherka tehsil of the Gurgaon where Meos gathered in large numbers. This fair is used by young girls for elopement. This fair used to be a great occasion for elopements. Other fairs of the state are Sohna fair, Gopal Mochan fair, Basdoda fair and Kartik fair.
