Uttar Pradesh is a home to fairs and festivals with their origin in different sect, religion, cast, community and creed. The state is a fine example of secularism.

Deva Mela
Deva is famous for Sufi saint Haji Waris Ali Shah located at 10 km from Barabanki. A large fair is held here at the occasion of Urs in month of October.

Ganga Dussehra
Ganga Dussehra is held in Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Varanasi and other places that are located on the bank of the river. It is a legend that Ganga came on the earth on this day. Aartis and chanting of shlokas are a unique phenomenon of the occasion.

Kampil Fair
Kampil Fair is held in Kampil village, Farrukhabad. The fair is organized to celebrate the birth day of 13th tirthankar Brahlan vimal Nath of Jain religion. The fair is a congregation point for many Jain devotees. The fair lasts for five days.

Ram Barat of Agra
Ram Barat is an imitation of wedding ceremony of Lord Ram to Goddess Sita. A grand carnival, referred as Jhanki, is taken out from Lala Channomalji Ki Baradari. The People take part in the ceremony voluntarily during the celebration.

Ayurved Jhansi Mahotsava
The fair is held in Jhansi district to highlight the ayurvedic products made in Jhansi. The fair is a platform where one can know different types of herbal cures of illness.

Bateshwar Fair
Bateshwar fair is organized at Bateshwar, Agra in the month of Kartik. The fair is organized near to temple of Bateshwar Mahadev. After taking a dip in river Yamuna and worshipping in the temple people go on for enjoying at the fair. The fair is known for its cattle trade.

Dadri Fair
Dadri fair is prominent cattle fair of Uttar Pradesh. The month long fair starts on the day of Kartik Purnima. Thousands of cattle from all over the country are brought in the Ballia district for trading.

Lucknow Festival
The Lucknow Festival is held in the state capital in the months of November-December. The fair showcases the arts, crafts and cuisine of the region.

Taj Mahotsav
The Taj Mahotsav, held in the February, at Agra attracts visitors from all over the world. The fair is a gateway to enjoy the Indian arts, crafts and culture. Wood carvings of Saharanpur, brassware of Moradabad, handmade carpets of Badohi, the pottery of Khurja, chikan-work of Lucknow, and the silk of Varanasi are the main attraction of the shops.
