Mohandas KaramChand Gandhi or Mahatama Gandhi is universally known as the Father of India. Mahatama Gandhi was born on 2nd October 1869 at Porbanar in Gujarat. Every year Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated in India as One of the National Festival of India, all schools, colleges and offices are shut on this day. He is popularly known for his commendable contribution in India's freedom struggle. Indians celebrates his birthday as it is declared as National holiday. Our Prime Minister and President with other political leaders visit Raj Ghat and pay homage to memorial Mahatama Gandhi.On this birth anniversary occasion, Political leaders conduct meetings associated to him in whom they listens the favorite song of Mahatama Gandhi i.e. “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram”, and “Vaishanav jan to”. He faced lots of unbearable struggles, but just because of his strong will power and his preaching he fought for the Nation. His principles, values, honesty and non- violence are still remembered as inspirations for many Indians. On this occasion the whole India remembers him whole heartedly and learns many things through the various special programs, which is telecasted on the television sets of whole country.
