Independence DayBritish people ruled for many years in India but on the day 15th august 1947 Indian got freedom from there rule. So that’s why 15th August every year celebrated as a National Festival of India. It is a memorable day for every Indian. This was the day when Indian feels proud and Indian flag also got the respect. In India this day is celebrated with full of joy and colors. A month before the preparations for the day starts in every state of the country. The main programs are held on red fort where prime minister hoists the flag and also give the speech. The students of government schools perform different cultural activities at red fort. All schools and colleges of India celebrate this day with full enthusiasm. The head of the schools/colleges hoist the flag and student sings the national anthem. The students organized the cultural programs like: dancing, singing, street plays, march pasting, etc. People also fly kites to show there happiness. It’s a remarkable day and people enjoy this day with full hearted. On this day there is a National Holiday in all over India. All shops are closed on this day. Many of the people watch red fort program live telecast on Doordarshan. Indian government also gives honor to the freedom fighters on this day.
