The holy city of Pushkar is very famous for its cattle festival called Pushkar Fair or Pushkar Camel Fair. Pushkar Fair or Pushkar Camel Fair is celebrated every year in the month of November at the time of Kartik Purnima Full Moon. During this globally famous fair, about 200000 people and 25000 cattle (including camels, elephants, horse and other) visit Pushkar. The fair is also called Pushkar Ka Mela. Purchasers and sellers from all over India come during Pushkar Mela to negotiate deals over prized animals. It is the most important celebration in the town which is celebrated on the banks of holy Pushkar Lake. It is one of the largest cattle fairs & festivals in the world. During Pushkar cattle festival, visitors have wonderful opportunity to have glimpse of rich Rajasthani culture & tradition. They have opportunity to see various cultural programs including folk music, folk dance performance, camel races, elephant races, turban fastening competition, etc. The also have opportunity to see and shop for exquisite handicrafts like pottery, bangles, embroidered shoes made of camel leather, etc. Pushkar Camel Fair also provides tourists wonderful opportunity for sightseeing of Pushkar attractions. Worth visit attractions in the city are Lord Brahma Temple, Gayatri Temple, Savitri Temple, Pushkar Lake and Holy Ghats.
