An interesting feature of the train is absence of Girder bridges. Multi arched aqueducts carry the rail line over the ravines between the hills. The only on 60 feet plate girder span in a Pinewood is near Dharampur and a steel trestle, which replaced a stone gallery in 1935 in the 869 bridges. . The train is declared as World Heritage site by UNESCO. The train runs through picturesque mountain region making the trip a profusion of joy and luxury. The journey by the train is a feast of lush green hills moving to higher altitudes. As the train moves towards Shimla, one can gaze on the serene majestic mountains.
